The ART XDirect is a 1-channel active direct box that lets you connect instrument, line, or even speaker-level signals to a mixer or audio interface with a balanced, low-impedance XLR output.
High-impedance 1/4" TRS and XLR inputs are buffered by low-noise active electronics, then converted to an isolated balanced XLR output with a very flat, wide frequency response (10 Hz–100 kHz) and high dynamic range (>100 dB).

The XDirect is an active direct box for connecting unbalanced instrument, line, or speaker signals to balanced inputs.
The input signal is sent to a transformer-isolated XLR output and a parallel Thru jack so it can simultaneously be connected to an amplifier on stage. Unique among ART DI boxes, XDirect models feature both 1/4″ TRS and XLR inputs for expanded connectivity.
Simple and durable, the XDirect is a compact DI in a rugged aluminum enclosure with a versatile feature set. Front panel switches engage up to 40 dB of attenuation to accommodate high-level signals, and a low-pass Bessel filter to eliminate high-frequency interference. Rear switches activate a ground lift to reduce hum, and invert the signal polarity to resolve phase issues such as those which can occur when combining DI and mic sources.
The active circuitry can operate on phantom power or for over 250 hours on a new 9-volt battery. Active DIs are often a great match for sources like guitars and basses with passive pickups, or acoustic guitars with piezo pickups and no preamp.
