The dbx 234S is a dual-channel crossover that can operate in stereo 2-way, stereo 3-way, or mono 4-way modes. A crossover is essential in any PA system because it divides the full-range audio signal into dedicated frequency bands optimized for each speaker type. This allows amplifiers and speakers to perform more efficiently, reduces distortion, and delivers clearer, more accurate sound.
The 234S features Linkwitz-Riley 24 dB per octave filters, providing smooth frequency separation with minimal phase shift. Each output includes independent gain control for precise level matching, along with phase inversion switches, a 40 Hz low-cut filter for removing rumble, and an optional summed low-frequency output for driving subwoofers.
Built with high-quality components and dbx’s renowned attention to detail, the 234S offers exceptional sonic performance and long-term reliability. From the solid, precise detented knobs to the robust 1/4″ TRS input and output connectors, this crossover is designed for professional use and dependable operation.
