The emergence of today’s multichannel digital surround sound formats has created
a need for extended versatility in cinema surround speakers. The Klipsch KPT-8000M
Cinema Surround speaker was created to meet that need with a perfect solution
for smaller size cinemas where cost effectiveness is a major objective. Designed
for flexible side-wall or ceiling placements, the Klipsch-exclusive Tractrix® Horn
technology provides critical low-distortion clarity with high-efficiency for maximum
output per watt. The added ellipses or “mumps” to the horn enhance full-horn
frequency coverage across its 90° x 90° wide dispersion area.
The solid, molded cabinet design provides an attractive, contemporary look that
blends perfectly with today’s high-style venues with pre-drilled holes to fit industrystandard mounting brackets for fast, easy and secure installation. Mounted flush on
a vertical surface (wall) produces an 8° downward firing angle while the included
insert adds an additional 7° of angle for a total of 15°. Klipsch SB-6 and SB-7 mounting
brackets are recommended for side-wall mounting while an approved third-party
bracket can easily be utilized for ceiling mounting.
