The Pianoteq 9 Studio Bundle was developed to revolutionize the virtual instrument landscape by offering an unprecedented level of realism, flexibility, and efficiency. Traditional sampled piano libraries are often bulky, inflexible, and incapable of the nuanced expressiveness required by serious musicians and sound designers. In response, Modartt crafted Pianoteq using a physical modeling engine that simulates the behavior of real acoustic instruments in real time. This approach removes the dependency on large sample libraries, drastically reduces system load, and enables a dynamic playing experience. With the Studio Bundle, Modartt aimed to consolidate a comprehensive, high-end virtual keyboard studio into a single, lightweight platform that caters to everyone from live performers to studio professionals and composers.
Key Highlights
Pianoteq 9 Studio Bundle
In addition to the included instruments, forthcoming instrument packs and upgrades to be released within a year from the date of purchase will be available for free.
Pianoteq PRO
Pianoteq PRO is the ultimate product for professional composers and recording studios, and has proved to be an indispensable tool in many recording projects — from movie soundtracks and TV commercials to the latest hit songs.
Pianoteq is an award-winning virtual instrument which you can install on your computer (PC/Mac). It is available for Windows, macOS, and Linux, and will even run on some ARM-based boards such as the Raspberry Pi. It can be used both in standalone mode and as an instrument plug-in in VST, AAX, and AudioUnits hosts.
What makes Pianoteq superior to other virtual instruments is that the instruments are physically modelled and thus can simulate the playability and complex behaviour of real acoustic instruments. Because there are no samples, the file size is just a tiny fraction of that required by other virtual instruments, making Pianoteq perfect for any modern laptop.
Version 9 of Pianoteq introduces an enhanced soundboard model that delivers richer stereo and spatial perception. All grand pianos have been revoiced for greater realism and expressiveness, and the expanded sound palette now includes cinematic Sombre presets, delicate Felt presets for historical instruments, and refreshed Binaural modes for immersive headphone experiences. The Electric Pianos pack has been updated with improved MKII and Reeds models, while the Harp pack now features a brand new Italian Triple Harp with an authentic baroque timbre.
We have collaborated with the best piano manufacturers in the world — Steinway & Sons, Steingraeber, Bechstein, Blüthner, Grotrian and Petrof — all of whom have approved the sound and playability of their physically modelled concert grand pianos available in Pianoteq. This rich and diverse collection of virtual grand pianos will appeal to all musicians in search of the most famous piano sound signatures.
Authentic Pedal Articulations
Pianoteq, being modelled (using laws of physics instead of pre-recorded sounds), can compute the sound for all 127 pedal positions that the standard MIDI protocol allows. Sampled pianos, however, cannot afford to record the sound for all single notes at each possible pedal position, as the samples would require a massive amount of hard drive space.
