The SSD CLA Expansion was developed to bring the iconic drum sounds of Grammy-winning mix engineer Chris Lord-Alge into the hands of producers, engineers, and musicians worldwide. Recognizing the influence of CLA’s signature drum tones—which are characterized by their punch, clarity, and presence—the expansion offers a curated collection of professionally recorded samples captured at Ocean Studios in Burbank, CA. It was created to meet the demand for high-quality, ready-to-use drum sounds that reflect the sonic excellence found in countless hit records. By offering these sounds in a format compatible with Steven Slate Drums, the product enables users to elevate their productions with the same textures and dynamics used by one of the most respected figures in audio mixing.
