The Waves PS22 Stereo Maker was developed to address a long-standing challenge in audio production: converting mono audio sources into rich, stereo soundscapes without introducing the phase issues that typically plague traditional widening tools. The goal was to provide producers, engineers, and sound designers with a tool that delivers spatial depth and clarity, all while maintaining mono compatibility—an essential feature for formats like vinyl, broadcast, and streaming. Inspired by vintage stereo enhancement techniques but equipped with modern precision controls, the PS22 was designed not only to create stereo from mono but also to refine and reshape stereo tracks with surgical accuracy.
