PSPaudioware RetroQ was developed to bring the warmth and musicality of classic analog equalizers into the modern digital workflow. The creators aimed to provide mixing and mastering engineers with a tool that imparts vintage tone and smooth tonal shaping without the common drawbacks of analog-style EQs, such as phase distortion or excessive coloration. It was designed as a solution for audio professionals who want subtle harmonic enhancement and character in their mixes without compromising clarity or fidelity. It’s shelf filters are based on the much lauded VintageWarmer filters, and PSP RetroQ’s addition of a mid-range filter is designed using the same internal architecture. An adjustable high pass filter is added to make the plug-in a complete program equalizer. PSP RetroQ was optimized for use on groups and entire mixes, but it is equally at home in any situation in which you desire some gentle sweetening in your overall processing chain.
