IK Multimedia iRig Keys 2 Mini

Italian music tech manufacturer, IK Multimedia, has expanded its range of iRig Keys 2 MIDI keyboard controllers with iRig Keys 2 Mini. The new MIDI keyboard features 25 mini keys and performance controls for expressing your sounds.

The iRig Keys 2 Mini is designed to be an on-the-go solution for DJs, beginner laptop producers and artists looking for a mobile solution to make tracks with. It’s also ideal for users with a small studio workplace making music on a smartphone, tablet or desktop DAW. The controller can be powered by a computer or mobile device, USB power supply or USB battery pack.

IK Multimedia’s compact controller also boasts a high ease-of-use factor, connecting directly to iPhones, iPads and most Android devices. A dedicated audio output lets you connect to speakers or headphones, which is especially useful for newer Apple devices void of a headphone output. MIDI In/Out is also incorporated into the iRig Keys Mini 2 for use as a standalone MIDI controller or interface.

The top panel is home to four assignable knobs, which can take control of eight parameters with a ‘5-8’ button. There’s also a push encoder, volume control and octave up/down controls, plus other useful navigation and control functions. You can save and recall your preferred settings, too.

Bundled with each iRig Keys 2 Mini controller is a selection of music-making apps, as well as all the necessary cables. As with the rest of the iRig Keys 2 series, it comes with SampleTank 4 SE, SampleTank FREE for iPhone and iPad, iGrand Piano FREE for iPhone, iPad and Android and iLectric Piano FREE for Android. The series is also compatible with many other popular music app titles for iPhone, iPad, Android and Mac/PC.
