RME announces the M-32 Pro II Series consisting of four new audio networking devices. Each unit consists of a specific combination of MADI, AVB, and Dante and offers either 32 channels of A/D or D/A conversion.

Designed for many professional applications including studios, playback rigs, immersive audio, live sound, and audio labs, the M-32 Pro II is engineered for high-quality analog conversion as well as digital audio network conversion that incorporate either Dante, MADI, or Milan-Compatible AVB.

REFERENCE-CLASS CONVERTERS
All M-32 Pro II units are based on state-of-the-art, high-resolution converter components and fully balanced signal routing, achieving 120 dB(A) dynamic range with very low latencies. While the M-32 AD Pro II offers the same outstanding analog performance as its predecessor, the DA converter has even improved the THD+N to -111 dB. Optimization of the impulse response at high sampling rates further refines the digital to analog conversion process.

For best compatibility, the M-32 Pro II series offers individual channel switching to different studio levels while maintaining full converter resolution. Notably, the series offers the SMPTE-recommended +24 dBu at 0 dBFS, allowing it to handle louder analog signals than most other available multichannel converters.

WIDE RANGE OF INTEGRATION OPTIONS
The frequently requested Dante connectivity has been integrated by RME directly into the M-32 Pro II-D hardware. It allows connection to other audio devices via standard network switches. Users can connect up to 64 audio channels from a computer directly to the M-32 Pro II-D’s analog and digital inputs and outputs using the Dante Virtual Soundcard™.

The AVB models transmit and receive up to 128 channels at 48 kHz (96@96k, 64@192k) with a predefined fixed latency. Each device also shares its status and configurable options across the network using ATDECC (IEEE 1722.1), enabling seamless integration into deterministic networks.

All devices are equipped with a number of advanced features. A second network port has been added to allow redundant operation. The Dante model includes a network switch mode to connect multiple devices together via the 2nd port. In addition to coaxial word clock and MADI ports, an optical MADI port can be upgraded with an optional SFP module – ideal for redundancy or applications requiring high channel counts at high sample rates. Channels from both MADI ports can be individually routed to and from AVB/Dante.

SIMPLE AND VERSATILE OPERATION
The M-32 Pro II series features several intuitive user interfaces. The high-resolution 2-inch display with rotary encoder provides comprehensive status feedback at a glance and allows access to settings directly at the unit – including clock configuration, preset management, single channel routing, redundant power supply monitoring and many more functions.

CONTINUOUS UPDATES
RME is known for FPGA-based devices that can be kept up-to-date with software updates. Since the launch of the first M-32 Pro converters, numerous updates have been released, bringing significant new features: increase of AVB total stream and channel count, numerous adjustments for MILAN™ compatibility, preset handling and much more. The new M-32 Pro II converters are also continuously updated, making them a safe investment for the future.
